Julie’s Latest Revisits Paris

She co-wrote “Before Sunset,” the sequel to the cult favorite “Before Sunrise,” and now Julie Delpy’s written another romance set in Paris.
“2 Days in Paris” (how clever!) sounds like it has a bit more edge than either of the “Befores,” though. Still a linear story covering 48 hours in one couple’s life, this one revolves around a New York-based couple at a rocky period in their relationship who take a getaway to the City of Lights. Delpy, who stars in addition to writing and directing, is Marion, a French photographer, and Adam Goldberg is her American husband, interior designer Jack. The trip’s supposed to reignite their romance; instead, they’re in the same city as all of Marion’s exes and her high-maintenance parents.
The film, an original script, is financed by Germany’s Polaris Films and is without any distribution as of yet. My bet is that it shows up in time for festival rounds next year where it can make a splash. Sundance might be a close call; the film isn’t even listed on Delpy’s IMDb profile. But Cannes, perhaps?
