A trailer for ‘The Air I Breathe’ is now available through the film’s official MySpace page located at myspace.com/theairibreathemovie. Julie is only featured very briefly in a quick flash in the cast credits, but the trailer overall looks to be quite interesting. Enjoy.

It starts badly. Jack refuses to take the Metro for fear of terrorists, and his hypochondria is acting up again. Nonetheless, he brightens for a moment at the chance to give misleading directions to some fellow Americans looking for the Louvre, their next stop on the Da Vinci Trail.

Welcome to Julie Delpy’s Paris. Delpy wrote, directed and stars in 2 Days In Paris with Adam Goldberg as Jack, her lover, the kind of lugubrious New Yorker who lends incontrovertible proof to the theory that Jerry Seinfeld and Woody Allen have never had to invent a thing.

But Delpy’s Marion loves him, partly because his cynicism speaks directly to her own. Marion is a great creation, who would probably be slightly bored by Celine, the rather earnest character she played in Richard Linklater’s Paris romances Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.

Today I capped the first half of another French film that Julie acted in: Tykhoo Moon. This French Sci-Fi film allowed Julie to show not only her acting skills, but how good she looks with red, black and her natural blonde hair. Her character was Lena, a killer posing as a prostitute.

“Basically, when you’re an actor, when you’re not working, you’re nothing,” Delpy says.

“(But) when you’re a director, when you’re not directing, you’re thinking, you’re preparing, you’re planning.

“When you’re a writer, you’re always a writer. The moment you go to your computer and write two lines, you’re a writer.”

Having witnessed her actor parents’ dejection when they weren’t employed, Delpy was determined to keep herself busy, whether studying film at New York University or making music (she released a pop-folk album in 2003).
